The Secretary of Government and Public Integrity (Segovi) of the Rio de Janeiro’s Municipality enacted the Resolution No. 91/2022, that creates the Governance Program in Privacy and Protection of Personal Data (PGPPDP).
The PGPPDP has guidance for Municipal public administration bodies and entities to adapt to privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
The City Hall enacted the Resolution right after the hacker attack on its Datacenter in August, which took several municipal services offline for a few weeks, including the Portal Carioca Digital and Nota Carioca, and compromised the sensitive data of several users.
PGPPDP requires the municipal agencies and entities to create internal committees responsible for supporting the personal data protection matters and the compliance with the LGPD.
