Rio de Janeiro state requires compliance program for companies seeking tax incentives – The Industrial Development Company (Codin) has issued an Ordinance which forces all companies with revenues over R$ 300 million to submit its integrity programs for tax exemption purposes. Microsoft sends an email to employees after deal for violations of the FCPA – In response to the sanctions imposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the company’s President issued a statement to affirm the Microsoft’s commitment with ethical business practices. Harvard Law School publishes a paper with potential flaws in Walmart’s anti-corruption program – The text highlights the knowledge of the compliance department regarding the failures in the implementation and maintenance of internal practices, as well as into bribery practices in its subsidiaries, including in Brazil.
